JOIN US for the 2023 Faerie Show Workshop and Audition weekend!
This will be a two-day training and audition process, designed to give you all the tools, tricks, and insider tips on what it takes to be a fabulous fae, as well as must-have festival survival skills. Based on what we see from you this weekend, we'll cast our 2023 Faerie Maypole Show.
There are 6 roles available for stage show faeries, and an additional 4 spots available for drummers/musicians.
Note: This is NOT a drop-in audition. Our audition is not only testing your skill, but also your ability to weather the weather and welcome the work required to bring joy to children and patrons for 7 weekends. Your attendance and enthusiasm this weekend, as well as your ability to play well with others, will be taken into consideration in casting.
Cast will be announced on Monday immediately following auditions.

DAY 1
MOVEMENT AND DANCE
Saturday, June 24th

C.A.S.T. | Social Cabaret

Saturday we will meet at C.A.S.T. | Social Cabaret to give you a foundation of movement, dance, choreography, and energetic physicality to help you connect with your inner "fae".
12:00 - 1:00 Faerie Flow - Energy & Movement Class
1:00 - 2:00 Showgirl Strut - Poses & Angles Class
2:00 - 2:30 Break/Eat
2:30 - 4:30 Faerie-ography Intensive
4:30 - 5:00 Day 2 Brief and Prep
Saturday is your opportunity to learn, practice and show us that you are coachable. We will be building this show together this summer, based on each cast member's unique strengths. But it's not just about what you can do, it's about what you can learn! Come ready to learn and you'll have a great time.
DAY 2
INTERACTIONS AND CHARACTERS

Sunday will be an immersive and interactive character day at Harmony Hill's UnRecital.
3:00 - 4:00PM Dress out and prepare for event
4:00 - 7:00PM Entertain, interact, dance, and participate with students, guests and your fellow faeries. Enjoy the photo-ops in costumes provided by Midwest Mythicals.
Sunday is the day we get to see YOU in your element, so come prepared to put your flutteriest foot forward.
REMINDER: This is NOT a drop-in based audition. Our audition mimics the overall rehearsal and performance process, so we can see your ability to prepare and perform in the context of a festival show.
We strongly encourage attendance both days to ensure your best chances.
While we understand that life happens, your participation in both days will count in your favor in our final decisions. Schedule availability for the auditions will be taken into strong consideration for casting, as our festival runs weekends from September-October, rain or shine. The children don't take days off from seeking magic, so we don't take festival days off from showing up for them.

To bring/prepare for auditions:
Sack lunch both days
Water (stay hydrated)
Dance shoes, Toms/Bobs, or faire shoes you can dance in (or similar)
Wear athletic, form-fitting clothing, preferably yoga pants or shorts, and whatever is most comfortable to dance in. (Don’t let your outfit distract you OR us, we are not grading personal style, we want to see YOU)
